Xavier Naidoo spreads new conspiracy theory – people

Musician Xavier Naidoo (48) is apparently doing what he is now best at: igniting and spreading absurd conspiracy theories.

A new message is circulating in the “Telegram” messenger program that the pop singer is said to have sent to his followers.

Naidoo, who cannot be called an anti-Semite after a court ruling, spreads the news that the A9 motorway was closed on August 1 to prevent 500,000 demonstrators from reaching the capital in time.

“For everyone who goes to Berlin,” begins the post that is now making the rounds on social media. This is followed by a hair-raising warning to demonstrators, peppered with calls for absurd measures.

It says: “Pack your cell phone 100 kilometers from Berlin and wrap it in aluminum foil, please. Signals are counted from transmitter mast to transmitter mast. This can be used to record how many people are driving into the city. “

The words will probably be addressed to all opponents of the corona policy. A new large-scale demonstration has been announced for August 29th in Berlin, to which people from other federal states also want to travel.

Xavier Naidoo, who was thrown out of the DSDS jury because of a scandalous video and was charged with suspicion of sedition, shares the contribution with almost 90,000 “Telegram” subscribers.

The confusing-sounding post also says: “Accordingly, the A9 was closed on August 1st, 2020 and 500,000 demonstrators did not come in or came very late.”

The people are asked accordingly: “Please pass this on! By the way: just switching off your mobile phone is not enough! Aluminum foil is important! Or a good tin can. Test beforehand! ”

The location of cell phones via transmitter masts, to which the police allegedly have access, should be stopped. With that the theses end.

Are they really from Naidoo?

No. According to BILD information, the singer shared the message in his “Telegram” group with all followers. Doesn’t seem to have written the lines himself.

Because in the original on “Telegram” you can see that he was forwarding the message to another user. This addition is mostly missing on screenshots that circulate on Twitter.

What was going on on August 1st on the A9?

▶ ︎ According to the Berlin police, there were no incidents on the A9 on August 1st. Neither a closure nor a major traffic jam was recorded. In other words: Drivers got through to Berlin safely – and into the city.

Only one week later, on August 8th, there was a major closure for several hours and 17 kilometers of traffic jam on the route around Potsdam – due to a recent accident.

▶︎ The fact is: In order to have radio reception, cell phones are constantly connected to at least one, usually several radio cells. The distance to the radio mast can be used to measure where the smartphone (including owner) is.

But: According to Section 100i of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the police need a valid reason – and usually a judicial order – to request that the operator of the respective mobile phone network locate the smartphone. For example, if there is a suspicion of a criminal offense.

▶︎ The number of demonstrators of 500,000 who allegedly “did not arrive or arrived too late” in Berlin also irritated the “Telegram” posting. The organizers of the August 1st demo claim that around 1.3 million participants were there.

The police contradict this, however: the authorities assume around 17,000 people.
