Supporting Economic Recovery and Smart City, Indosat Launches Commercial 5G Service in Solo

SOLO, solotrust.com – The launch of PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo) commercial 5G service in Solo City on Tuesday (22/06/2021) is part of a new partnership with the city government (Pemkot) to support economic recovery.

President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo, Ahmad Al-Neama, explained that the partnership includes collaboration in the areas of empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), digital talent education, and smart city development.

“Indosat Ooredoo’s partnership with the Solo City government aims to encourage a collaborative response in accelerating economic recovery through empowering MSMEs and providing opportunities for young people to hone their full potential,” he said.

As for bringing the power of 5G services to the people of Solo, Indosat Ooredoo focuses on optimizing the 5G experience in three use cases (use cases).

First, it delivers enhanced mobile broadband for better wireless video quality, video game, and other data-intensive mobile applications. Second, continuing the Smart City & Industry 4.0 vision in Solo through the application of machine learning technology (machine learning) and automation of operations. Third, edutainment smart that combines the power of technology Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).

“To empower SMEs in Solo, Indosat Ooredoo has started selling Rasa Solo Hampers on the myIM3 application and will train 10 thousand Solo SMEs to go digital. In addition, it also provides services UCan to offer micro-loans to MSMEs to help finance their business growth,” said Ahmad Al-Neama.

In the realm of digital talent education, Indosat Ooredoo will facilitate training and coaching content creator for 2,000 young people and youth movement communities in the city of Solo. It will also facilitate AR training for 500 pelatihan developer young from Solo.
