The show begins with a look back at the return of Samoa Joe on NXT. Adam then tells Cole that he was sneakily attacked by Joe. Joe doesn’t know yet, but Cole is the new king of NXT. If he beat Kyle O’Reilly on The Great American Bash, then he has to be called the best NXT wrestler of all time.
Carmelo Hayes comes out with a microphone and introduces himself to the audience. The segment is similar to John Cena’s debut against Kurt Angle. He also says the words “Ruthless Aggression” and slaps Cole on the face before the match starts.
1. Match
Singles Match
Adam Cole won against Carmelo Hayes via pin after the Panama Sunrise.
Match time: 12:27
Backstage, Franky Monet chats with Aliyah and Jessie Kamea. She calls the trio the “Winner’s Circle” because they will win all of their matches today. Robert Stone joins them and is happy to have found his clients. Monet, Aliyah and Kamea say goodbye with high fives before Stone wants to do a high five as well. However, Monet’s dog, Presley, barks at the moment and Stone is startled.
Then it switched to McKenzie Mitchell, who conducts an interview with Zoey Stark. Strongly surprised that Io Shirai is her day partner. Stark wants to prove that it was not a mistake on the part of Shirai to trust her.
A small vignette shows the new Million Dollar Champion LA Knight, who is happy to have left Ted DiBiase.
Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory make their way to the ring. Gargano says there have been changes in the management of NXT and now it’s time for a new NXT Champion. Even on his worst day, he could beat Karrion Kross. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan join in and the Briton asks Gargano if he really is for the No. 1 contender holds. Theory wants to say something, but Dunne rubs him over the mouth. Gargano can reassure his partner, saying that they obey the law. While Gargano puts the mic on the floor, Dunne grabs Theory’s fingers and “breaks” them.
We see Cameron Grimes arrive at the arena in the early evening. He pays two men before a third man comes in. He asks him if he has visited DiBiase in his nursing home. Grimes laughs ironically before forearming the man. Then he throws him a wad of money.
NXT General Manager William Regal thanks Adam Cole for keeping his end of the bargain. Cole says he only did this for himself and not the GM. Regal tells him not to intervene in O’Reilly’s match.
Then Gargano and Theory go to Regal’s office. He demands consequences for Dunne and Lorcan. Regal agrees and schedules a tag team match that will take place after the upcoming match.
2. Match
Tag Team Match
Io Shirai & Zoey Stark won against Aliyah & Jessie Kamea (w / Robert Stone) via Pin to Kamea by Shirai after the Over the Moonsault.
Match time: 09:41
After the match, The Way (Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell), who appeared on the stage during the match, go into the ring. Then come Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez, who are No. Put 1 contender into play. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart also come out and there is a big brawl. Samoa Joe comes out and works with officials to try to stop the brawl.
At “The Great American Bash” Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher will get a chance to win the NXT Tag Team Championship from MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter).
3. Match
Tag Team Match
The Way (Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory) won against Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan via Pin to Lorcan through Gargano after the One Final Beat.
Match time: 14:15
After the match, Gargano celebrates his success on the ramp. Out of nowhere he is eliminated by Karrion Kross.
Backstage, Kross & Scarlett meet Samoa Joe. Kross reminds Joe of the condition that he must be provoked before he can attack. Joe agrees and lets the two of them pass by. Pete Dunne arrives and has a star down with Joe.
In the next week Zoey Stark & Io Shirai, Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez and Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart will determine the next challengers to the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in a 3-Way Tag Team Match.
4. Match
Singles Match
Franky Monet won against Elektra Lopez via pin after a glam slam.
Match time: 03:26
An interview with Bronson Reed is interrupted by Hit Row hype their match.
5. Match
Tag Team Match
Hit Row (Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis) won against Ever-Rise (Matt Martel & Chase Parker) via pin to Martel by Adonis after a double team neckbreaker.
Match time: 02:32
After the match, Parker wants to protect his partner from further attacks. In the end, he takes a kick from Isaiah Scott.
Mercedes Martinez learns from McKenzie Mitchell that she will play a mixed tag team match against Xia Li & Boa in the next week. Before she can announce her partner, Martinez is attacked by the two Chinese. Jake Atlas joins and dissolves the whole thing, who turns out to be Martinez’s partner.
6. Match
(Non-Title) Singles Match
Kyle O’Reilly beat NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida via pin after a scooter while Kushida had applied the hoverboard lock.
Match time: 14:23
After the match, Kushida and O’Reilly show each other respect. Then O’Reilly sprints towards Adam Cole, who was on his way to the ring. While the two archenemies are crawling, three men jump onto the apron and surround Kushida. The men attack Kushida and turn out to be Tyler Rust, Malcolm Bivens, Hideki Suzuki and Roderick Strong! Bivens acts as a mouthpiece and introduces the “Diamond Mine”. Bivens presents Strong with the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. With these pictures the show ends.
