WWE NXT 2.0 #38
Ort: WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, USA
First broadcast: May 31, 2022

NXT 2.0 kicks off this week with Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp taking to the arena accompanied by the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. Strong lets her companions know that they are not needed today and should take the evening off. Nile and the Creeds aren’t happy about this, but Strong refuses to argue with them. This is followed by the first match of the evening.

1. Match
(Non-Title) Tag Team Match
NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) defeated Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp) via a pin by Kit Wilson on Roderick Strong after the Spilled Milk.
Match time: 13:22
– Before the finish, Elton Prince tried to hit Strong with his title belt, but Julius Creed threw himself in between and caught the blow.

Cameron Grimes prepares for today’s match and is visited by Solo Sikoa. He promises to have his back today because after Grimes is done with Carmelo Hayes, he will be the next to earn a title match with Grimes. Duke Hudson joins in and demands a lateral entry into the rankings for the North American Championship after his victory via DQ over NXT Champion Bron Breakker. Sikoa points out that Hudson was only able to do this with the help of Joe Gacy. The two discuss which one is superior to the other before Sikoa demands a match against Hudson.

Grayson Waller slams Roxanne Perez and Fallon Henley in recorded video, both of whom should be more like Tiffany Stratton. Josh Briggs comes up behind him and challenges him to a match.

Legado Del Fantasma welcome Tony D’Angelo, Stacks and Two Dimes to their yacht for the scheduled hearing. The two leaders become hostile to each other, which also causes the supporters of the troops to get at each other’s hair. Eventually, the heads of the group calm down and Tony D presents his opponents with a challenge. For example, as Don of NXT, he wants to up the ante for Saturday’s scheduled 6-man tag team match, demanding that the losing team join the winning squad and obey the leader’s orders. Escobar replies that he only sees three new members of the Legado, while Tony D can already hear people on the street discussing how to expand his family. The stipulation is decided with a handshake.

2. Match
Singles Match
Cora Jade defeated Elektra Lopez via pin after a senton bomb.
Match time: 5:05

McKenzie Mitchell welcomes Wes Lee. He says he’s been waiting for another match with Xyon Quinn for a long time and now he’s finally got the go-ahead from the doctors to get back in the ring. Despite the fact that the past week hasn’t gone as planned for him, Lee is determined to prove that you don’t need to be a giant, just have a big heart to put up a good fight and win.

Roxanne Perez announces her biggest match yet in next week’s Breakout Tournament finals against Tiffany Stratton. She left a lot of friends and important events for wrestling, so she will give everything.

3. Match
Singles Match
Wes Lee defeated Xyon Quinn via pin after a roll-in.
Match time: 3:40

Backstage, Roderick Strong is clearly dissatisfied with the Creed Brothers’ intervention earlier because they didn’t follow his instructions. Wanting to settle the dispute, Ivy Nile explains that Pretty Deadly wanted to strike with the title belt, which Julius only protected Creed Strong from, but Creed Strong notes that he would at least have gotten a win via DQ. He says he’s the one who knows best what’s best for Diamond Mine, which is why he lets the Creeds know there’s no room for error on Saturday’s “In Your House.” If the Creeds lost to Pretty Deadly, they’d be out of the Diamond Mine!

Joe Gacy can be seen in a video alongside his two favorite druids. He promises to prove on Saturday that Bron Breakker is not in control of his emotions. He wants to win the NXT Championship one way or another.

McKenzie Mitchell visits Bron Breakker in the locker room and questions him about what he just saw. Breakker is furious and wants to throw his TV across the room, but controls himself at the last second and puts the device back in place. However, he agrees with Gacy that Breakker is predictable. But on Saturday he will split Gacy into pieces.

Wade Barrett enters the ring and welcomes Katana Chance & Kayden Carter and Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne to their scheduled meeting ahead of Saturday’s Championship Match. Mandy Rose and Wendy Choo have also gathered to support their parties. Carter, Chance and Choo all show up ready to finally unseat Toxic Attraction on Saturday, but their counterparts laugh at it. Lots of ladies would have messed with them, but they’re still here and not interested in stepping down. Jayne ironically understands that her opponents should be excited, after all, her first Premium Live Event is coming up. And while Chance, Carter and Choo played TikTok or gambled in arcades, they helped the women’s division shine again. Mandy Rose intervenes, demanding respect for herself and her group, while Choo insists that the conversation end and the contract be signed. This is exactly what Mandy Rose does before she is then attacked by Wendy Choo with a blowgun, whereupon the situation escalates. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter clear the ring and knock Rose down. They place Rose on the table in the center of the ring and hold her while Wendy Choo mounts the top rope and flies through Rose and the table with a diving elbow drop. Together they hold the titles for which they have their chances on Saturday in the air and celebrate.

4. Match
Singles Match
Solo Sikoa defeated Duke Hudson via pin after the Uso Splash.
Match time: 4:45

Tiffany Stratton says in recorded video that by winning last week and taking Nikkita Lyon’s place in the Women’s Breakout Tournament, she has righted the greatest injustice. She promises to win the tournament next week by beating Roxanne Perez.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Thea Hail graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA, the best possible grade. She finds herself at an interview desk and would now like to announce which university she wants to attend from the fall. Her choice is very clear…Andre Chase University! Chase, accompanied by some students, can hardly believe his luck and together they celebrate the newcomer in front of the TV.

For the following match, Grayson Waller enters the ring. Josh Briggs follows, accompanied by Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley, but Waller demands that Briggs send “Horse Face” and Henley backstage as well so that they would not be disturbed in the ring and since it would be unfair for him to be outnumbered so clearly. Briggs agrees and his companions go backstage.

5. Match
Singles Match
Grayson Waller defeated Josh Briggs via pin after rolling stunner.
Match time: 3:34
– During the match, Mr. Stone and Sofia Cromwell entered the hall. This was the harbinger of an intervention by Von Wagner, which distracted Briggs decisively.

Josh Briggs von Wagner then wants to continue attacking, but Brooks Jensen blocks his path despite his injured arm. Von Wagner doesn’t want to let this stop him, but Sofia Cromwell holds him back and leaves this triumph to Jensen.

6. Match
Singles Match
Ivy Nile defeated Kiana James via pin after a belly-to-belly suplex.
Match time:
– Kiana James was previously the first lady to break free from the Modified Dragon Sleeper approach.

Another video promises the debut of Giovanni Vinci, which is coming to NXT soon.

Expected on Saturday and the Premium Live Event “In Your House” where Bron Breakker will put his NXT Championship on the line against Joe Gacy. Should Breakker be disqualified, the title would change as well. Also, Mandy Rose defends the NXT Women’s Championship against Wendy Choo. The rest of Toxic Attraction, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne will put their NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter. The Creed Brothers are given a chance at the NXT Tag Team Championship by Pretty Deadly, losing out on being released from the Diamond Mine. Cameron Grimes grants Carmelo Hayes a shot at the NXT North American Championship. We also witness a 6-man tag team match between Tony D’Angelo, Stacks & Two Dimes and Legado Del Fantasma, with the losing team having to join the opponent’s group. But now it’s time for today’s Main Event!

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams enter the arena to watch the following match from the commentary booth.

7. Match

Match time: 10:11

Williams and Hayes retreat to the ramp while Grimes stays in the ring for his final triumph ahead of “In Your House.” This concludes NXT 2.0 this week.
