Kickoff-Show
Kayla Braxton welcomes us and your guests Booker T, JBL, Peter Rosenberg and Kevin Patrick from Atlanta to the pre-show. Even before the show, it was announced that Roman Reigns would be absent due to a positive COVID-19 test. His opponent Brock Lesnar will instead compete in the WWE Championship Match, making this a Fatal 5 Way Match. You can find more about this topic HERE.
After Braxton announced this news again on-air, a video follows about the feud between Edge and The Miz. As a result, The Miz interrupts the preshow panel to express its disappointment over the unsuccessful wedding on “RAW”. He wants to defeat Edge to finally get the respect he deserves.
Backstage we see King Woods and Kofi Kingston reading from a scroll. It says that The New Day will win the Usos’ WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship today. January 1st will be known as New Day-Day from now on. After today’s New Day-Day, the Usos will be locked in the king’s dungeons.

Sheamus & Ridge Holland won against Cesaro & Ricochet via pin to Cesaro by Sheamus after the brogue kick.

-During the match, Ricochet shot a Standing 450 Splash against Ridge Holland with the help of Cesaro. The action didn’t go as planned and he seemed to have broken Holland’s nose. After that, Sheamus played the match alone.

The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) (c) won against The New Day (King Woods & Kofi Kingston) via pin to Kofi Kingston by Jimmy Uso after the 3D.

Big E is interviewed backstage by Kevin Patrick. The WWE Champion says he is ready to go through fire. Despite being added to the match, Brock Lesnar will defend his title.
The Migos are backstage with Kayla Braxton. They deliver today’s theme song and address a few words to the WWE universe.
“Happy” Baron Corbin & Madcap Moss come to the ring for the next match and crack jokes about McIntyre, who is not long in coming.

Next, Kevin Owens will be interviewed backstage by Sarah Schreiber. He is furious that Brock Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship Match. It’s no longer just about how he and Seth Rollins work together, but also about how he can get revenge on “Bully” -Lesnar for the attack on his best friend Sami Zayn. But now Owens has to go to Rollins’ first to discuss her plan for the main event.
Randy Orton & Riddle, accompanied by the Migos, come to the ring for the RAW Tag Team Championship Match.

RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) (c) won against The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) via pin to Montez Ford by Randy Orton after the RKO.

After the match, the two teams show each other respect and celebrate together with the Migos.
Backstage, a roaring Drew McIntyre walks around before he finds Sarah Schreiber to give an interview. He tells us how “tough” Madcap Moss is and how amazed he was that Corbin could hold back. At that moment the Scot is attacked by “Happy” Baron Corbin & Madcap Moss. McIntyre is hit with a metal rod by Corbin while his head is trapped in a chair.
Kayla Braxton is looking for an interview partner again and finds what she is looking for at Brock Lesnar’s locker room. Lesnar comes out and promises to leave tonight’s show as the WWE Champion. „That‘s not a prediction, that‘s a spoiler!“

Singles Match
Edge won against The Miz (w / Maryse) via pin after a spear.
Match time: 20:03
– The Miz was in the meantime shortly before knocking, but he was pulled into the ropes by Maryse.
– Maryse intervened in the match one more time and hit Edge with hers. This was followed by a skull crushing final and a near fall. Then Beth Phoenix came to the ring, who drove Maryse away and heralded the finish.
Kevin Patrick wants to interview Bobby Lashley backstage. MVP takes the floor and explains that Lashley is happy to have Brock Lesnar in the WWE Championship Match. If Lashley has won the WWE Championship, it is spoken in the same breath about how he also defeated Brock Lesnar.

Becky Lynch (c) won against Liv Morgan via pin after the man-handle slam.

Seth Rollins is now with Kevin Patrick and is supposed to comment on the addition of Brock Lesnar to the WWE Championship Match. He understands why Lesnar is in this match. He’s not worried, however. His four opponents all have one thing in common, which Rollins’ plays into his cards. They’re all not Seth “Freaking” Rollins.
We are shown an excerpt from the Kickoff Show Match and informed that Ridge Holland actually got injured in this match.
The Royal Rumble will take place on January 29th this year. For the men’s 30 Man Battle Royal, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville is confirmed as the first participant!
