‘Would You React?’ tests pharmacies to measure the effects of “mask 19”, a new code for women victims of domestic violence

In recent weeks, a code has entered into force so that women victims of domestic violence can denounce the bad practices of their partners rather discreetly. It is by going to the pharmacy and asking for a “mask 19” that women give a distress signal to their interlocutor.

The Youtube channel Would you react, which aims to educate people, visited 6 pharmacies in Brussels to see how pharmacists reacted after the introduction of the “Mask 19” code in order to see if the information was well understood and disseminated. But above all, the goal is to see how pharmacists come to the aid of any woman victim of domestic violence.

The observation of this experience is rather positive. We first see that pharmacists are benevolent and want to systematically help the patient, even without knowing the code in question. Other strong reactions took place, for example the pharmacist who brought the female victim inside the counter to separate him from his violent companion.
