World Cup salaries will go to treatment of African children; Antonio Rudiger

Former Chelsea player Antonio Rudiger says the full amount received from the World Cup in Qatar will be donated to the treatment of African children. The 29-year-old actor has announced that he will provide financial support for 11 children’s surgeries.

“It is painful to see the conditions in which children in Sierra Leone grow up. Unfortunately not much can be done for these children. I am proud to help them. In Germany I had opportunities denied to many in Sierra Leone. I am grateful for these opportunities” – said Rüdiger.

“Newborns are also diagnosed with many diseases here. Essentially they are born with their Achilles tendon in place, meaning their legs are pointing down and in. If left untreated, patients may need crutches for the rest of their lives. Surgery is expensive in West Africa and no one can afford it,” continued Rudiger

“These 11 children are from Lunsar, a city in Sierra Leone. I will give them my World Cup reward. I am looking forward to many projects in Sierra Leone with my family in the future”. – Rüdiger clarified. Rudiger, who was part of the German team of the World Cup in Qatar, was born in Berlin, Sierra Leone. The Real Madrid defender returned to the country in January this year and next year will present Antonio Rudiger to the Sierra Leone Foundation.
