A woman from Nürtingen (district of Esslingen) was the victim of a messenger scam. By the time the scam was discovered, the financial damage had already been done.
The unknown scammers have defrauded a woman from Nürtingen (Esslingen district) of a four-figure sum of money in recent days. According to the police, the woman received a WhatsApp message from an unknown mobile number, in which the sender pretended to be Nürtingen’s son. The scammer then pretended to be in dire financial straits and asked the woman to transfer several thousand euros. The woman did this: the fraud was discovered shortly after.
