Woman from Tana Toraja Killed Co-Worker Over Trivial Money Matter in Central Sulawesi

A girl from Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi), Agnes Retni Anggraini (25), died killed his co-worker, Muh Jufri (33), in Morowali, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi). The murder was allegedly due to a trivial matter when the perpetrator borrowed money.

Reported detikSulsel, Tuesday (15/5/2023), the victim’s body was found in the dormitory of PT Panca Pilar Sejahtera (PPS) employees in Bahodopi Village, Bahodopi District, on Saturday (13/5). Agnes was initially escorted by her boyfriend, Desrianto Palulungan, to the employee’s dormitory at around 9:30 a.m. WITA.

“Initially the victim was brought by his girlfriend Desrianto Palulungan to the office where he worked to give some money to his two co-workers,” said the victim’s family, Henry Desfa Deyanto, to detikcomSunday (14/5/2023).

The boyfriend actually had time to take the victim home because their business was finished. However, the victim refused because she wanted to wait for her friend who was still at the office.

This condition forced Desrianto to leave his girlfriend in his office. Until finally there was a condition where there was only the victim and his co-worker named Muh Jufri.

Perpetrators and Victims of Conflict over Money

Morowali Police Chief AKBP Suprianto revealed that the perpetrator Jufri then borrowed IDR 500,000 from the victim when they were alone. However, the victim stated that he had no money cash so he asked the perpetrator to withdraw IDR 500,000 using the victim’s ATM card.

Problems started to arise when the victim suspected that the perpetrator had withdrawn more than IDR 500,000. At that time the victim immediately interrogated the perpetrator.

“(Victim says)’don’t you take more of that ji?'” AKBP Suprianto said detikcomMonday (15/5/2023).

The accusation turned out to make the perpetrator offended. The perpetrator and the victim ended up arguing and pushing each other.

When he fell, the victim immediately asked for help by screaming. The screams apparently made the perpetrators immediately panic.

“The victim screamed for help. The perpetrator panicked, so the perpetrator then covered his head and hit (the victim’s head) with a rock,” he explained.
