Every romantic relationship wants a happy ending. So is the case with this one pair. After dating online for a long time, the couple intends to get married. But what happens if it turns out that the lover you are dating is an imitation man?
Reporting from eva.vn, a Taiwanese couple’s love story has recently gone viral on social media. The reason is that after 8 years of dating and having intended to get married, the woman just found out that her lover was fake and was an imitation man.
The 26-year-old woman surnamed Hou was initially introduced by a high school friend to a man surnamed Chen. Because Hou and his friend lived together and were very close, Hou immediately believed him. He later became friends with Chen at Yahoo.
After following each other’s Yahoo accounts, Chen and Hou started exchanging messages and grew closer until they decided to date. After graduating from high school, the two continued their education to college while continuing their online romance.
Until finally both graduated and were working, Hou and Chen’s relationship was still lasting. Hou seemed to really trust Chen, even though they had never met. However, Chen and Hou exchanged photos with each other several times.
After 8 years of dating, Chen began to express his desire to marry Hou. Hou was certainly very happy to hear that and immediately agreed.
In June 2021 Chen finally proposed to Hou. Wanting to make a good impression on the Chen family, Hou decides to give some gifts on behalf of his girlfriend. Hou was even willing to transfer 120 thousand yuan or around Rp. 265 million to Chen to buy a family gift.
Even though at the same time the Hou family wanted to borrow money to buy a house, but Hou didn’t give it on the grounds that he was going to get married soon. Hou’s own family said that they had never met Hou’s boyfriend and wanted to take him out to dinner to discuss wedding details, but Chen always refused for various reasons.
This made the Hou family doubt Chen’s identity. Only after asking his family knew that Hou had never met Chen in real life. Not only that, Hou and Chen also never made video calls while they were dating. Hou always wanted to meet, but Chen always quibbled with the excuse that he was busy studying and taking care of his future.
In the end, due to family pressure, Hou reported the matter to the police. From there, it was revealed that Chen’s real identity was a woman, not a man. He disguises himself as Chen’s man and lover just to get money and gifts.
When summoned by the police, Chen admitted what he had done. But he said that if he wanted to really introduce Hou to another man, he just hadn’t done so. Chen also said that he had no intention of cheating and wanted to pay Hou’s money back later. However, Hou could not accept this and lodged a complaint with the Taipei City Prosecutor’s Office. Chen was eventually investigated for fraud.
