A wolf has invaded De Hoge Veluwe National Park. This is remarkable, because by placing a fence, an attempt was made to keep the animal out of the park.
The wolf has meanwhile killed a number of mouflons. The sheep do not occur naturally in the Netherlands and have been released into the park by the owner in the past.
According to Jakob Leidekker, manager of the park, there are holes in the fence and the wolf got in like that. The manager suspects that people have purposely made the holes to enter the park without paying or to make room for the wolf.
“A lot has been cut lately, more than usual. We even had someone arrested for it,” the administrator tells the NOS on NPO Radio 1. There are now dozens of holes in the grid, which is about 40 kilometers away. is long.
