“Kurdish-Israeli Prigogine” destroyed: Iran destroys US military bases – 2024-02-19 04:08:55

/ world today news/ Tehran launched a large-scale missile attack on American targets in Iraq. The US Harir air base, located near the city of Erbil, was hit, and the US consulate and MOSSAD headquarters in Iraqi Kurdistan were completely destroyed.

Tehran decided to test its latest weapons and attacked American and Israeli targets with surface-to-surface ballistic missiles. The confirmed strike range is 1200 km. Over a hundred Shahed drones were launched. Officially, this is revenge for the bloody terrorist act in Kerman during the commemorative events dedicated to the anniversary of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.

The destroyed MOSSAD headquarters was used to control terrorist activity in Iran. According to unofficial data, five Americans and nine Mossad employees were among those killed by the rockets.

Iran had no choice but to respond

Washington claims their facilities were not damaged. Israel is generally silent and is unlikely to comment on anything. One way or another, Iran has every right to defend itself. Because it borders Iraq and Syria – countries in which, as a result of American-style democratization, terrorists are spreading very freely, acting in the interests of the United States.

The terrorist attack in Iran on the anniversary of Soleimani’s assassination was a slap in the face of Tehran. This is an attempt to show that the security of the republic can be breached at any time. It was impossible for this to go unanswered. This is what the political scientist Dmitry Rodionov said in a conversation with a Tsargrad correspondent:

Will this lead to a major escalation? Hardly. The low-intensity proxy war between Iran and the United States in the region has been going on for many years. How can this end? No way. The US will not fight Iran directly – it is too risky.

Washington will not fight the Houthis in Yemen either. It will be limited to a series of strikes that will not solve anything militarily. Also, in a presidential election year, it would be suicide for the US administration.

“Kurdish – the Israeli Prigogine”

The Iranian attack is also notable for the fact that it resulted in the liquidation of the Kurdish businessman Peshrav Dzei, owner of Empire and Falcon Group companies. He was closely associated with MOSSAD and the government of Iraqi Kurdistan. Four ballistic missiles flew into his house. Obviously, to be safe.

Falcon was founded in 2003 after the US occupation of Iraq. The main fields of activity are oil, construction, security. She received a license to work in Iraq almost immediately after Saddam Hussein was overthrown by the occupation administration. In addition, a large number of ex-US military personnel work in the security services.

The conflict over Taiwan is set

For the first time in a long time, Iran decided to launch direct attacks on American targets. Until recently, all participants in hybrid confrontations attributed their attacks to fighting certain proxy forces.

Let’s say Israel strikes Lebanese territory, but talks about the need to fight Hezbollah. And when the Americans bombed Syrian territory, they preferred to declare a fight against terrorists, but not against Bashar Assad’s troops, reminded political scientist Andrey Ivanov.

Tsargrad: But if Israel and the United States could afford more than others, other countries were afraid to directly attack official targets of the Western world. Now Iran is openly claiming responsibility for a very daring attack on American targets. What does this mean?

Andrey Ivanov: The Iranian leadership apparently sensed that the Americans would not be able to respond. And there are grounds for this assumption.

Can’t the West simultaneously respond to several crises in different parts of the world?

— Yes, it is already difficult for the West to conduct its active policy in Ukraine after the conflict in Israel. The situation in Yemen is still playing out, and a conflict over Taiwan is on the horizon.

And then suddenly there is the need to deal with a new flash point in Iraq.

– Definitely. I wonder how America will react. During the Ukrainian crisis, the West understood very well that it does not have the resources to actively participate in even one conflict. Hence the reaction when Washington calls Iran’s actions “reckless.” As they say, they “expressed concern.” But now we are not talking about some distant situation at all, but about an attack on American targets.

– And what is the decision for Washington?

— Most likely, the American elites are using the current incident for their internal struggle between Republicans and Democrats. We will see not an external backlash from the United States as a single country, but a new wave of mutual recriminations within the American establishment in a “we told you so” style. And this will symbolically mean the West’s public recognition of its own failure as a world hegemon.

So what?

American military presence in the Middle East has nothing to do with US national security and serves only to ensure further aggressive action. Resistance against the United States could not help but arise, and now it is only beginning to gather strength.

The unsuccessful American experience in Afghanistan also played a role, which showed that American troops are not invincible and their huge technical superiority can be compensated by the peculiarities of the terrain and combat strategy. Military expert Sergei Prostakov told Tsargrad about this:

At the same time, Tehran’s actions are largely forced, as the aggressive plans of Washington and its allies are no longer a secret. All of this is happening in a region where Israel has nuclear weapons and some other countries have the willingness and ability to produce and use them.

The West, led by the United States, is no longer able to fight with impunity against the rest of humanity. But with its actions in Ukraine and the Middle East, Washington is putting the world on the brink of nuclear war.

But Iran also does not want to fight the United States directly. The parties will continue to try to bite each other. But in this case, the ball is still in Tehran’s court.

At the same time, the situation in the United States is deadlocked: on the one hand, Washington must demonstrate firmness and respond to any attacks in order not to be considered weak, on the other hand, it must try not to go too far and not let to be drawn into the adventure that will bury the electoral chances of the current administration.
