Since last October 1st increases in the bill will involve all Italian families. A 40% increase in the cost of electricity is the basis of these disproportionate increases that the government is trying to limit by removing the item “system charges” from the bills. The decree saves price increases on electricity and gas bills
The Energy Decree it is the solution that the Government has activated to support the economically most disadvantaged families in view of the increases in electricity and gas bills. The reference fund is 3.4 billion euros and is aimed at both families and to businesses, both hit hard by the increases. The envisaged measure provides for the disbursement of social bonuses for electricity and gas. Two concessions, therefore, that families and companies in difficulty will be able to obtain.
As far as businesses are concerned, it should be specified that the bonus is dedicated to small businesses whose consumption do not exceed 16.5 kW. For these recipients, specifically, it is provided the zeroing of the rates relating to general system charges for the last quarter of 2021.
Families and bonuses, what are the conditions
The families that will be able to benefit from the social bonus are approx three millions. We are talking about those realities whose ISEE does not exceed a certain amount. The subsidy is aimed at households with ISEE lower than 8,265 euros per year, to families with four children or more payable with ISEE of less than 20 thousand euros, to the recipients of citizenship income and to the subjects who present serious pathologies which involve the continuous presence of electro-medical equipment. These are the requirements for accessing the electricity bonus.
For what concern bonus gas, 2.5 million families will be able to cancel the price increases. Those who pay natural gas will get a VAT reduction of up to 5% and all the increases in their bills will be canceled for the last quarter of 2021.
