The CDU member of the Bundestag, Erwin Rüddel, recommends applying for the parliamentary sponsorship program (PPP) again this year, which can take place immediately and for which he is once again a political sponsor and acts as a contact person and companion.
Region. Anyone who is curious about the USA and open to new, different and surprising things, who would like to get involved and want to become a junior ambassador for an exchange year and who meet the participation requirements can apply, according to the corresponding press release from the von Rüddel office .
The PPP offers high school students the opportunity to experience what “school spirit” means and a home with an American host family. The scholarship covers the costs of flight, accommodation, school and insurance as well as preparation and support from professional exchange organizations.
With the PPP scholarship, young professionals can work in an American company for six months and attend college for six months beforehand. The PPP offers the opportunity to gain international work experience and to make contacts that can be an enrichment for one’s own career.
The young professionals also get to know everyday American life in host families.
This scholarship includes comprehensive preparation and mentoring as well as program costs such as airfare, insurance and accommodation. For young professionals, an additional contribution of 5,000 euros is recommended – for example for the purchase of a car.
Applications can be made online during the application period ending on Friday, September 9, 2022 (www.bundestag.de/ppp). Full scholarships are also awarded in the USA as part of the PPP. A total of 350 young Americans will come to Germany from September 2022 for ten months. (PM)
