Windows 10 now supports multi-window Android applications

Microsoft announced that it has introduced support for running multiple Android applications simultaneously on the latest Insider builds of Windows 10. As expected, however, it is not a function open to everyone.

The Redmond company had announced last August support forrunning Android applications within Windows 10 by connecting a compatible Samsung smartphone. Three months after the initial announcement, Microsoft made it possible to open apps in multiple windows to enable true multitasking. The first to be able to access the function will be those enrolled in the program Insider and who have installed the build 20257 on Windows 10.

Experience the power and convenience of running multiple Android mobile applications side by side on Windows 10 PC with supported Samsung devices“Writes the Microsoft team. “Applications will launch in separate windows, allowing you to interact with multiple applications at the same time even if the Your Phone application is not open“.

All smartphones Samsung Android 10 compatible with Link to Windows (LTW), including Galaxy Note20 5G, Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, have started receiving from 5 November the ability to use Android apps in multiple windows from a PC with an update of Your phone.

Even smartphones that have already switched to Android 11 with the beta update to OneUI 3.0 are supported.

Unfortunately not all applications are compatible for streaming to another device. Apps such as those for home banking or streaming services may have blocked the transmission of images on a screen other than that of the smartphone.

More information about the function is available on the official announcement page on the Microsoft website.

The excellent Samsung Galaxy S20 FE smartphone, with 120Hz display and triple camera, is available on offer on Amazon for less than 600 euros!
