The win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO is coming to Graz next weekend. 16 women’s and 16 men’s duos will tackle the main competition of the “Energie Steiermark Summeropening presented by WOCHE” on Saturday. Not only local, but also international teams are in action on Mur Beach and Auster Beach on about 2000 square meters of the finest quartz sand.
First and foremost the Ukrainians Valentyna Davidova and Diana Lunina, who won the win2day Beach Tour opener in Podersdorf on May 1st. At the second PRO 80 event, the two are again among the closest favorites. Eva Freiberger and Stephanie Wiesmeyr are top seeded in Graz. For the men, a very prominent name is at the top of the seeding list: Philipp Waller, who finished fifth with partner Robin Seidl at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour event in Doha last weekend. In Graz he will compete with Jakob Reiter.
The qualification is already on the program on Friday. On Saturday, the preliminary rounds (modified pool play) will be completed first, followed by the quarter-finals. On the final day, admission is free and only Mur Beach will be played.
