Because of a single resident, a pub at the “Freising Night of Music” has to close earlier than planned. Resentment and incomprehension are great.

Freising – Once a year, the city center becomes a music and party mile: at the “Freisinger Nacht der Musik”. On Saturday, people will once again roam Freising’s main street and celebrate the popular pub hopping. That pleases many. But not all. A local resident has made sure that the DJ duo Tutti Frutti is not allowed to play until 3 a.m. as originally planned in the Q-Bar on Obere Hauptstraße, but has to end at 12.30 a.m. And that’s quite exciting in Freising right now.

Since the organizers – Prima leben and stereo – announced this, there have been nasty comments about the complainant on Facebook, for example. As the city reported when asked by FT, a resident had already contacted the city in March who, as press spokeswoman Christl Steinhart put it, “was concerned about possible music performances in the Q-Bar until three o’clock” on the occasion of the “Freisinger Night of Music”.

At that time there were no applications from the organizers, Steinhart continued, which is why the event had not yet been approved. During a conversation in mid-April, the city administration pointed out the concerns of the residents to the organizers of the “Freising Night of Music”, the association Prima leben und stereo eV (Plus). For his part, Plus then suggested shortening the playing times in the Q-Bar to 0.30 a.m. in order to avoid neighborhood disputes from the house.

Hannes Wunner, owner of the Q-Bar, is no longer surprised at all of this. The fact that this neighbor is constantly calling the police when not all tables have been cleared by 11 p.m. sharp on normal days has been going on “for years”, reports Wunner. He’s no longer angry about it. He doesn’t understand that on a day of the year like the “Freisinger Nacht der Musik” you can’t “turn a blind eye”. Wunner, who lives in Ziegelgasse himself, is convinced that you have to make compromises when you live in the city.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Most commentators on social networks see it that way too. Anyone who complains should be “ashamed of themselves”. And why the local resident lives in the middle of the city, only “to then complain about the noise of city life”.
