Czech Republic in shock at the sudden death of Petr Kellner, the richest man in the Eastern European country. The tragedy occurred Saturday, during a billionaire’s helicopter trip over the mountains of Alaska. Four other people were killed in the accident, including the pilot, a ski guide and two passengers. Kellner had turned 56. The news was given by the PFF Group, which Kellner had helped found and of which he was the majority shareholder with 99%. “With great sadness – reads the note from the company – Petr Kellner died in an accident aboard a helicopter, which occurred in the mountains of Alaska”.

In 1991, after the fall of the Communist regime, Kellner founded PFF Group. The company had allowed him to participate in the privatization of the country’s economy, in the process of converting to the free market. The man owned stakes in more than twenty companies around the world. It also appeared among the former shareholders of Generali.
His personal fortune was valued in $ 15.7 billion. A figure that has allowed Kellner to appear, as the only exponent from the Czech Republic, in the index of the 500 richest personalities in the world drawn up by the international news agency Bloomberg, specializing in economic information.
It is currently unclear who could hold the position of the billionaire at the helm of PFF Group, whose assets were estimated to be worth a total of $ 44 billion in June 2020. Following the announcement, the shares of Moneta Money Bank are collapsed by 4.3% on the Prague stock exchange on Monday. Earlier this month, PFF revealed its intention to take over 28.4% of the Czech bank’s shares. The yields of O2 Czech Republic, another company in PFF’s investment plan, also fell by 0.8%.

The military who rushed to the scene of the accident spoke of a survivor, seriously injured but who would not be in danger of life. After the news broke, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babis, also expressed his condolences. “Incredible tragedy.
