Anches was killed in the night of Friday 23 to Saturday 24 July. That same night, two men aged 40 and 42 from Rotterdam and a 32-year-old man without a permanent home or residence were arrested. One of them is now free, but like the others, he is still a suspect in the case.
Earlier in the evening, the victim is said to have had an argument with a group of people. That would have been about a wrong comment, said a police spokeswoman in the AVROTROS program. When the group and the victim later see each other again on the Jongkindstraat, there is another confrontation, after which the victim is stabbed and dies on the spot. Police later find a knife in the street.
Witnesses, people who know more about the fatal stabbing or have camera images, are asked to report to the police.
