This was debunked by Dr. Hossam Mowafi, a professor of critical care at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, pointing out that salt-free white meat alone cannot be relied upon to control hypertension, despite its high nutritional value.

Mowafi added during his “My Lord, Increase Me Knowledge” show on Sada Al-Balad channel that the same goes for hibiscus, which most people with high blood pressure are used to taking instead of medications. .

The professor of intensive care medicine explained that a correct diet does not replace drug treatment, inviting patients with high blood pressure to regularly take the drugs prescribed by their doctor, without prejudice to the doses and times required for obtaining them.

He concluded his speech by recommending hypertensive patients to completely avoid salt and products rich in it, such as cheese, canned foods, fast food and soft drinks, and to replace it with lemon, vinegar, chilli pepper, onions and garlic.
