The parks opening It is one of the main social demands in the city of Madrid since the first relief measures for children and adults began with daily outings. Until now the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, had been reluctant to open them Understanding that its use could generate concentrations of people, which is exactly what is necessary to continue avoiding. Therefore, the Governing Board of the city council has reached an intermediate solution: starting tomorrow, friday, the district parks They will be those that allow the transit of people.

The deputy mayor of the capital, Begoña Villacís, recalled that neighborhood parks are the ones that really “can serve as relief for the neighbors ”during their walks, confirming that the great parks of the city will remain closed. “The council’s criteria is that of maximum prudence. We are going to slow down to normalcy because the steps we take have to be safe. ”

The parks that are still closed

So, since this Friday, the people of Madrid they will find the small parks in their neighborhoods already open and without the tapes of forbidden surrounding them. The ones that will remain closed and which will not be able to enter for now are the large green areas: Retiro, Madrid Río, Casa de Campo, Fuente del Berro, Capricho, Quinta de los Molinos, Sabatini, Torres Arias, Juan Carlos I, Juan Pablo II, Nurseries of Casa de Campo, Nurseries Stoves, Rosaleda, Valdebebas, Finca Tres Cantos, West, East and Dehesa de la Villa .

According to Villacís, the keynote that the council will follow is the maxim that says “dress me slowly, I’m in a hurry” to remember that the large green spaces will open sooner if the citizens demonstrate that they comply with the safety distances and that it avoids crowds even inside the parks. Now, what will remain closed will be the recreational play areas within those parks, also those of the districts.
