The rules have changed. Since Monday, France is in theory ready to carry out 700,000 screenings of Covid-19 per week. The PCR test, performed by sampling the nose and throat, is no longer reserved only for caregivers, the elderly and vulnerable and pregnant women. Anyone prone to symptoms, including cough, fever, difficulty breathing or loss of taste or smell, can now be tested, on prescription of a doctor.
Mandatory appointment
But be careful, before going to the laboratory, you must make an appointment by phone or internet. Ditto for contact cases contacted by agents of the Health Insurance, but who themselves, will not need a prescription.
In both cases, the sample will be taken in the laboratory itself, at certain specific times, or else in a “corona drive” where you can get tested without getting out of your car. These could include gymnasiums, town halls.
350 centers in Île-de-France
According to information from Europe 1, 350 sampling centers, including 130 drives, will be open on Tuesday in Île-de-France. In the Bas-Rhin, classified red, more than 70 centers will be accessible, compared to a dozen in the department, classified green, of Vienne. From Tuesday and throughout the week, the ARS of each region will publish on their website the cartography of all the sampling locations in the region. The test costs 54 euros and will be reimbursed 100% by Social Security.
