In recent years, a number of countries have raced to go to Month. Space exploration has even started to hold space tourism or space tourism. When yes, Indonesia can tour the Moon?
This was one of the questions asked by detik.com in the live event “Eureka!: Indonesia Hunting Exoplanets and Aliens”, Monday (24/1) night, to astronomer Prof Dr Thomas Djamaluddin, MSc. who is the source.
“Now not only Indonesia but globally (conducting space exploration) yes. Currently there are efforts to make space tourism. What is now being tried is to use a vehicle that can reach a certain height, but is generally still below orbit. This means that it does not go around the Earth, but immediately descends again to Earth,” said Djamal.
The man who once served as the Head of the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) said that the next human dream is to send humans on a tour around the Earth like the astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS).
“We also dream of how to travel to the Moon. It’s not public yet but it’s being tried again. In the 1970’s US astronauts were already landed on the moon“Now there is another NASA program with several of its international partners preparing the ‘Back to Moon’ program to send astronauts back to the Moon,” he explained.
Maybe one day, Djamal said, not only well-trained astronauts can go to the Moon. Even ordinary people, with a space vehicle that is safer and more comfortable, will be able to travel to the Moon, even to Mars which became the dream of the next space exploration.
This is a challenge as well as a human dream, namely one day being able to visit the Moon, to Mars and even to form a colony or a kind of human village on the Moon or on Mars.
“Back then, it was still considered science fiction. But now it’s starting to be thought about how if we really send humans to Month, ke Mars. So some of this is still a dream, but some of this dream has been designed scientifically,” he explained.
