When Will the American Recession Happen? This is Elon Musk’s Prediction

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned of the risk of a recession in the economy in the United States (US). He said the economy of Uncle Sam’s country has the possibility of facing a recession again.

Tesla, Musk’s own company, will cut employees by 10% to prevent this from affecting the company. But the number of employees who are paid hourly will increase.

Musk also stated employees should spend a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office or ‘unplug from Tesla’. According to him, the amount is much less than the demand for factory work.

“The higher up you are, the more visible you are. Of course there are companies that don’t need it, but when was the last time they delivered a great new product? It’s been a long time,” Elon Musk said in an email, as quoted by Reuters on Sunday (26/5). /2022).

While through his Twitter account, he did not deny the authenticity of the email. It even states those who disagree ‘should pretend to work elsewhere’.

Even before Musk’s warning, Tesla had about 5,000 job openings on LinkedIn from sales in Tokyo and technicians at the new GigaFactory Berlin to scientists in Palo Alto. In addition, online employee recruitment for the Shanghai region has also been scheduled for June 9 on its WeChat channel.

In a report to the US stock exchange, in 2021 Tesla’s total employees will reach 99,920 employees.

If this hunch is realized, there will be 9,992 Tesla employees who will experience layoffs. In addition, the opening of new Tesla employee vacancies will also clearly be cancelled.

Despite Musk’s fears, data on demand for Tesla cars and other electric vehicles (EVs) remains strong in the market.
