32 clubs in Europe will look forward to this Thursday, August 26 the 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League group stage draw, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 11:00 in Ecuador.

Of the total number of clubs that will make up the best tournament at club level in Europe, until the publication of this note there are only 26 teams that have their ticket insured. The last six places will be defined this Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m., between PSV vs. Benfica, Ludogorets vs. Malmö, Ferencvárosi vs. Young Boys, Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Monaco, Brondby IF vs. Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb vs. Sheriff.

Spain will be the country that will have the most representative in the tournament, having five clubs in the group stage: Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Sevilla, which are the four classified by their positions in La Liga, and Villarreal, the current UEFA Europa League champion. England, Germany and Italy will follow with four clubs each.

The 32 clubs will be divided into four pots, with eight teams in each. Pot 1 will include the last champions of the two tournaments organized by UEFA (Champions League and Europa League) and the last six champions of the associations with the highest ranking.

From pot 2 to pot 4, the clubs that have the best position in the ranking of the coefficient of clubs determined by UEFA will be placed. During the draw, no team may play against a club from their own federation in the group stage.
