The success of the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has motivated members of the Governor’s Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) DKI Jakarta, Bambang Widjojanto (BW) to support the championship event. Formula E which is planned to be held in the capital city. BW said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government wanted to emulate the success of the Mandalika WSBK.
This was conveyed by BW when he visited the KPK’s Red and White Building with the President Director of JakPro, Widi Amanasto. The connection between his arrival at the KPK was to deliver the completed documents related to Formula E, as requested by the KPK.
“In principle, we want to imitate Mandalika. If Mandalika can be successful here, it should also be successful,” said BW to reporters at the KPK Red and White House, Monday (29/11/2021).
The former head of the Corruption Eradication Commission admitted that the preparation process for the Mandalika WSBK carried out by the NTB Provincial Government will also be imitated by DKI. BW insists TGUPP doesn’t want anything other than success Formula E.
“Well, one of them is the government process that we have to study in Mandalika, for example. So, we don’t want any other problems besides the success of Formula E,” he said.
Previously, BW had indeed been to the KPK with the Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate, Syaefulloh Hidayat to provide documents regarding Formula E. The KPK was indeed investigating allegations of corruption behind the implementation of Formula E in DKI Jakarta.
Question of document completeness Formula E brought today, BW delivered about 1,000 pages thick. He also admitted that he could not detail the entire contents of the document.
“For example, these documents, the BPK documents. They are important ones that must also be submitted. Then there are some documents that we can’t talk about here that were requested by the KPK, so we’ll hand them over too,” said BW.
Furthermore, BW said the DKI Provincial Government would continue to be transparent to the KPK. He will assist the KPK’s performance in investigating the alleged corruption case in Formula E.
“In principle, we want governance, we want to open it, we want to give everything to law enforcement who did this. So, if we want to help our friends at the KPK, because we want to create a new era, the documents needed must be assisted,” he said.
The 2021 WSBK series in Mandalika, Central Lombok is said to have run successfully from 19 to 21 November yesterday. The government said that the international motorcycle racing event did not cause new COVID-19 clusters.
Meanwhile, in terms of security, it is considered that there are no prominent security disturbances. The NTB government is now preparing for the 2022 MotoGP event which will also be held at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit.
