KOMPAS.com – Instant messaging app WhatsApp launch three feature new at once this year, namely increasing the capacity of group members, reaction emoji to be able to send file up to 2 GB in size.
WhatsApp previously introduced these three features last April.
Currently, the new features will be rolled out gradually to WhatsApp users worldwide.
Here are 3 WhatsApp new features year 2022
1. Send files up to 2 GB
There is a new feature that allows users send files large size, which is up to 2 GB in individual or group chat rooms.
The file size that can be previously shared is limited to a maximum of 100 MB.

According to WhatsApp, this increased file transfer capacity will help small businesses and school groups.
“We recommend using WiFi to send large files. We will display a counter when uploading or downloading to let you know how long it will take to transfer the file,” explains WhatsApp.
WhatsApp finally helped launch the Reactions feature or emoji reactions, after being left behind from its two brothers, Instagram and Facebook.
There are six emoji that users can use as a reaction to a received message. Namely thumbs up, heart, laugh out loud, surprised, and sad.
In addition, there is also a reaction that is often interpreted as a thank you or a high five.
“We will continue to improve it by adding more expressions in the future,” said WhatsApp.
WhatsApp says the three features are being rolled out gradually to all users.
Therefore, some users may not be able to find this WhatsApp feature update.
3. Capacity of 512 members in one group

Reporting from WhatsApp Blog, increasing the capacity of group members is the request that WhatsApp receives the most from users.
Previously, WhatsApp Group admins could only add a maximum of 256 members to the group.
This capacity has now doubled to 512 members.
“So now we are slowly rolling out the ability to add up to 512 people to groups,” WhatsApp wrote on its blog, Thursday (5/5/2022).
This increase in the number of WhatsApp Group members also supports the Community feature which will soon be launched by WhatsApp.
