WhatsApp: you can now make video calls with 8 people at the same time

Whatsapp is not far behind current trends and has improved its video calling platform to allow up to eight people per group call. Read: Six applications to make video calls.

Until a few days ago the platform only allowed to make a group call of only 4 people but this was increased due to the high demand of people to be connected by COVID-19.

The messaging platform improved its servers and now you can make group calls with your friends or loved ones with just a few clicks on the screen of your mobile.

The steps to make a group video call on Whatsapp are as follows:

  1. You open WhatsApp on your cell phone.
  2. You select a group chat in which are your contacts with whom you want to make a video call.
  3. Select the call option that is in the upper right part of the chat.
  4. You select your contacts to participate in the video call.
  5. You select the video call option which is a camcorder. This will start the video call. To exit, just press the red button in the shape of a telephone on hook.

At the moment, the option to call for eight people is only in the beta option of WhatsApp but it is expected that in the next few days it will be released for all devices with this application.

With this the messaging application makes it a strong competition to platforms like Zoom, Skype and Hangouts, which remained as people’s favorites. However, Zoom’s vulnerabilities make people decide on other things in range like Whatsapp.
