Suara.com – WhatsApp reportedly developing a Disappearing Mode feature or disappear mode. This feature is intended to maintain user privacy.
“Today we are announcing a new feature called Disappearing Mode! If you like privacy, then disappearing messages is the right feature for you,” said WhatsApp as leaked by WABetaInfo, quoted on Tuesday (18/5/2021).
If this mode is activated, all chat history on the user’s WhatsApp will be deleted, be it private chats or group chats. This way, the user will start a new chat if they want to send another message to someone.
To activate it, users must set it manually. This means that this feature still only applies to certain contacts or groups that have been set in the “Contact Info” and “Group Info” options.

Disappearing Mode is not yet available to the public, even though users have updated the application to the latest version.
But if WhatsApp has released it more widely, users can activate it automatically in WhatsApp Settings> Privacy. After that, all chats will be deleted and the user can create new chats.
This is a new breakthrough for WhatsApp. Because apps have rarely added privacy-focused features in recent times. Disappearing Mode is expected to be available in a future update for both Android and iOS version of WhatsApp users.
