Whatsapp groups are often used, but you don’t always want to stay part of the group. With a trick you can also remove yourself from the chat unnoticed.
Kassel – The group chat function on Whatsapp is useful for many users in order to exchange ideas with several people at the same time. Be it in a sports club, with work colleagues or to plan a larger event – several messenger users can write messages in a chat in a Whatsapp group.
Sometimes, however, you are unintentionally added to WhatsApp groups and don’t want to offend other users when you leave the group. The popular messenger provides in its principles, however, that the members of a group are informed about the activities of the other participants. Thus, when a user leaves, the rest of the people in the group are shown that this person has left the group. However, there is a trick you can use to bypass this feature.
Group chat on Whatsapp: This trick removes yourself from annoying chats
Officially, Whatsapp does not offer the option of “secretly” leaving group chats. However, users can bypass the basic settings with a simple trick in which they simply mute the group.

If the notifications for this Whatsapp group are muted, messages from the group members will continue to arrive in the group, but you will no longer hear them. Because if the notifications are muted, the smartphone no longer rings or vibrates for every group message and the message is no longer displayed on the screen.
Whatsapp: How to mute group notifications
To deactivate the notifications of a group on Whatsapp, tap on the group name at the top of the screen in the chat. Android users can then select the option “always” under “Mute notifications”. Apple users select the option “always” under the item “mute”.
Users can now only see how many unread messages have been received in the group chat when they open WhatsApp. If that is even too much for you, you can also work around this with a simple trick and remove the chat from the Whatsapp list.

If you want to make the Whatsapp group disappear from the chat list, you should move it to the archive. To do this, tap the group in the chat list on Whatsapp for a long time. With Android this is then marked with a small green tick next to the group picture, with Apple a list with various options appears.

Then tap the “Archive” symbol (for Android) or “Archive” in the list (for Apple) in the upper right corner of Whatsapp. So the chat is moved to the archive. Finally, in the Whatsapp settings under “Chats” and the “Archived chats” option, the “Leave chats in archive” control must be activated.
Users cannot leave the Whatsapp group, but it disappears into the archive and becomes invisible. With this trick, users also keep the back door open to become active again in the group if necessary.
