The “last online” display in WhatsApp chats is quite practical: it allows a rough assessment of whether the contact will answer promptly or not. If you do not want to pass this information on, you could previously specify this in the settings of the messenger. Now the Meta subsidiary is introducing a new security function that makes the status “last online” only accessible to contacts by default. In other words: strangers can no longer see when you last opened Messenger.-
