It has been several weeks since a big update took place on Fortnite Season 3. Indeed, the developers of Epic Games had gone on summer vacation and had left a lot of content unveiled over time and the descent of the water level.
But today, July 21, a big update has taken place on the game bringing its share of new features and new cosmetics. Let’s take a tour of everything that is happening in the game.
Roll mechanics
While everyone was waiting for the cars to arrive for today with the update, the vehicles are not available. But the presence of challenges speaking of gasoline could indicate an availability of these within a few days only.
In the meantime, nearly all of the island’s gas stations (notably those at Salty Springs and Lazy Lake) have been modified to accommodate larger structures so that players can refuel there soon, as can be seen on this capture of @FN_Assist :
A ship ran aground
A variant with a cosmonaut’s helmet can be found for the Siona skin. Astonishing fact: a ship appearing to come from another planet or galaxy stranded in the water north of Craggy Cliffs (north of the map). If you watch the area in replay mode, you will spot this mysterious ship still containing a male individual resembling the Siona skin. Leakers (like @FortTory) were able to make this vessel appear with a new very weak water in order to visualize it correctly:

New cosmetics added
Each update comes with its share of new cosmetics: outfits, backpacks, pickaxes etc. Let’s take a look at the additions from the developers via the French leaker @LlamaLeaks on Twitter :
New Skins
We can discover new outfits with in particular the Pantin outfit which serves as a mascot for the crash tests of cars put on the market. Enough to fuel the arrival of cars soon on the game.

Multiple backpacks are also being added and will soon be available through packs, challenges or through the store.

And otherwise ?
In short, we were also entitled to other new features:
- New challenges related to the little critters in the north of the island.
- With the water level falling, known areas have resurfaced: Frenzy Farm, part of the Cod Camp or the Shark for example.
- A new gas station has appeared at Slurpy Swamp but is still submerged.
- Vehicles have strangely disappeared from the map: to come back better and be ready to roll?
- Cosmetics for the future anniversary of Fortnite, end of July.
