Buckingham Palace and the residences of the royal family have strict rules on how to decorate interiors for Christmas. It turned out that it was forbidden to hang tinsel there. The abundance of bows, garlands and other decorations is also unacceptable – everything should be in moderation.
However, in one of the rooms there is an undecorated Christmas tree. Elizabeth II did not allow anyone to dress her, except for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She invented this tradition especially for them.
“At Sandrigem, the queen always made sure that the tree in one of the rooms remained completely bare – this was done so that the children could decorate it themselves,” the royal family butler told the publication. Daily mail.
