The Hoy No Circula for this Tuesday applies to all cars with pink rubber and whose license plate ends with the digits 7 and 8, as reported by the Environment Secretariat of Mexico City.
It is important to mention that this vehicle restriction is only for those cars that have hologram 1 and 2.
To find out when your vehicle is not circulating you can use the official portal of Mexico City: There you only have to enter the hologram and the last digit of the license plate.
Hoy No Circula has the same schedule every day: it begins at 5:00 a.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m., according to city authorities.
This means that the vehicle restriction program has a duration of 17 hours.
From Monday to Friday, Hoy No Circula changes daily, with the color of the sticker and the last digit of the license plate defining those cars that are not allowed.

If the vehicle restriction program is ignored, the sanction is a financial fine equivalent to 20, 25 or 30 times the current Measurement and Update Unit.
This means that the penalty ranges from 2,000 to over 3,000 pesos, as stated in the Mexico City Traffic Regulations.
Sometimes, the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) suspends the application of Hoy No Circula, mainly on holidays, non-working days, mandatory rest days or during vacation seasons.
In contrast, CAMe can also apply a double Hoy No Circula, where vehicle restrictions are expanded, caused mainly by the poor air quality in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
Poor air quality can bring with it a series of environmental measures such as Double Hoy No Circula (Cuartoscuro)
The two main reasons why Hoy No Circula is implemented is to reduce vehicular traffic and, consequently, reduce pollution. That is why when air quality is extremely bad, an environmental contingency is declared and measures are taken to improve the environment.
Among these measures are modifications to the vehicle restriction program, applying the “Double Today No Circula”.
In these cases, the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis suspends the circulation of all vehicles with hologram 2, half of the cars with hologram 1 that the authority will define at the time as those whose license plate ends in even or odd, as well as some of the cars with hologram 0 and 00 that will also be announced when this happens.
This measure may be suspended or extended by environmental authorities, depending on whether the air quality of the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico improves or worsens.
Whatever the case, the schedule of the Hoy No Circula program will be the same as always, from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
