Here’s how Pro League clubs will tackle an unprecedented summer transfer window after Covid-19.
We have known for several weeks: the Covid-19 crisis will have major repercussions on the world transfer market. The Pro League is no exception.
The first consequence concerns the calendar. UEFA has already announced that the summer transfer window will be moved from August 31 to October 5 to allow the clubs that finish their championships this summer to take the time to strengthen themselves for the 2020-2021 season. With us, the summer transfer window will be divided into two parts. Concretely, it will open on July 7 (instead of June 15 in normal times) to close, initially, on August 31. The second part of this original transfer window will open on a date that remains to be determined and could last four weeks to get as close as possible to the date of October 5.
