A well-filled stomach is one of our primary needs, so food is a daily commodity for most of us. In addition: traditionally it is eaten in the morning, afternoon and evening. Exact times, however, may vary. Depending on the local culture and the work you do, you eat at different times. But what is the impact of this?

This was exactly the approach of a study, the results of which were published earlier this month in the scientific journal PNAS. The eating behavior of 19 subjects was analyzed for 14 days.
Mental health
The results clearly show that eating very late or during the night is bad for health. In particular, the mental impact of a late meal cannot be underestimated. Twenty-six percent of those who ate at night or late at night showed signs of depression. 16% had to deal with fears. Those who ate at “normal” times did not suffer from these symptoms. Researchers therefore recommend eating during the day, even if you work at night, to protect your mental health.
