What employees want: to combine teleworking, office life, meaning and flexibility

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, employees prefer flexibility in the organization of work more than ever. This is one of the key messages highlighted by the second part of a survey conducted by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Cadremploi, among 208,807 talents from 190 countries, including more than 5,300 in France. “Les Echos” come back to the points to remember from this study, which shows the profound transformations taking place in the world of work in the light of the health crisis.

Teleworking, a practice still not very widespread in many companies before 2020 in France, is one of the major upheavals in the daily life of employees, at all levels. The figures are very clear and illustrate these developments well. Thus, before the first confinement, 70% of French people worked on site, every day, and only 6% had adopted full-time teleworking. At the end of 2020, they were 64% to telecommute at least one day a week. Most experts agree that it will be very difficult to go back and that teleworking is now firmly established in the life of companies.
