“What Displeases Actress Marta Dancingerová in the Golden Swan Series?” – AHA.cz

Saleswoman Bára Veselá from Zlatá labuta doesn’t mess with anything, she doesn’t lack irony and the rules don’t mean much to her. Are you similar in this?

“I think we have enough in common. Especially when I was growing up, I perceived some rules quite similarly to her. But I’m not eighteen anymore and I’ve grown up a bit, so I follow the rules now. Although, for example, when baking a bun, I cannot follow the recommended procedure. I do not like it. So we’re probably close in that we prefer to improvise in some situations and I’ve always had contempt for authority figures. My knees don’t knock when I see someone high-ranking. Sometimes it helps me and sometimes it hurts me. Bara is also quite ironic, which I like. And it doesn’t rub off on anything at all. So I would say we have something in common. She is like me many years ago.”

Growing up in an orphanage also influenced Bara a lot.

“I, on the other hand, am the youngest of four children. This is the best position, I wouldn’t change it. I didn’t have to do anything and I was still young for everything. The sisters had long since felt that I should do the housework too, and I was still small.’

Would you like to live in the time when the Golden Swan takes place?

“I would like to try it, maybe for a week. I think that even though we know a lot about that time, we can’t consistently relate to what it was like. What I envy is that people had time to really experience some things unlike us. How many times during the whole day do I just do a quick dot and I don’t even realize what was going on. It’s a terrible storm sometimes. That’s probably the main thing I like about that time. However, the Second World War was starting, so it was a very difficult time…”

Is your name on the list of those who would like to buy one of the costumes after filming?

“Costumes are beautiful, but if you spend more time in them than your clothes, you don’t want to buy them. I don’t mind that they are a little uncomfortable, on the contrary, I like that they keep their shape. That dress is beautifully feminine. But what really bothers me are nylons. That’s something I can’t deal with. If I could replace it with something, I would.”

In addition to the luxurious clothes, the television did not skimp on the studios, which occupy an area of 2,500 square meters. Have you managed to get lost in the Golden Swan mall yet?

“Sure, I’m already lost. In the beginning, I was always happy when someone led me to the place where I was supposed to shoot, but now I’m hooked. It doesn’t happen to me anymore.”

Customers can buy almost anything they want in this department store. All this with maximum service. Would you be tempted to experience such shopping?

“Today, we go to buy jeans and find out after a week that they don’t fit. Or t-shirts lose their shape after one wash. I like that in this department store, a customer buys a luxurious fur coat and comes here to store it again for the summer so that it doesn’t get ruined at home and really lasts her whole life. That’s such a nice example of sustainability in clothing.”

Between your Bára and the owner of the department store Peter in submission Adama Vaculy it sparkles from the start. Did you know each other before filming?

“Yes, we met at school. He was two years younger than me, but he is an older brother. He went to DAMU terribly late. But we haven’t run into each other at any other work yet, we knew each other more from parties and the like.”

Was it difficult for you to develop a personal relationship with someone you didn’t know during the first few days of filming?

“You bond with someone instantly – within two seconds you’re on the same page. And with some it can take. But I wouldn’t say that it affects me a lot at work. On the contrary. Sometimes when people sit down and talk a lot about their personal lives, they focus less on work. It can be tricky too.”

You didn’t feel natural shame before Daniela Kolářováwho has been acting for almost sixty years and has played hundreds of roles?

“Unfortunately, we didn’t have many common images in the script yet, we only met in crowd scenes. Of course, I have a lot of respect for her for all that she leaves behind. It’s almost unbelievable that we have these personalities in the series. Not only Mrs. Daniela Kolářová, but also Mr Peter Kostkawho plays the uncompromising father of the Kučer family and an ardent patriot.”

But with the director Biser Arichtev you also filmed the sequel to Cuckoo. There must be the right chemistry between you…

“He filmed the first parts of the Golden Swan Brano Holiček, now Bisi is filming again. I think we understand each other. Just one comment and I immediately understand what he means. Shooting with him suits me and I think it’s mutually agreeable. After all, it wasn’t like the filming of Cuckoos ended and the Golden Swan followed it smoothly. When I started filming in the Kbela studios, I still had four days of filming Kukáček left. It was very difficult to complete it.”

In both series you have the main role, so also a lot of text. You weren’t mistaken?

“Lyrics can be learned. I’ve already built up such a choreographic text memory that I’m quite good at it. I’m lucky in that, it was still very demanding. It was an adrenaline rush for me. I can remember the whole autumn down to one day when the Golden Swan was on. I don’t even remember when I slept in between. And when I saw the footage now, I knew exactly when I was asleep and when I wasn’t.”

Which did you enjoy more – The Cuckoos or The Golden Swan?

“Both, but I’m glad for the difference compared to the Cuckoos, which are very realistic and experienced. The Golden Swan is a different genre, a bit more fairy-tale. I’m glad I was able to jump into more playing. I enjoy it.”

Are you going to keep it up and pick up more work so you don’t fall off the pace?

“Definitely not! I don’t have time for anything else at all. I’m not on set every day, but maybe every second. In addition, I also play in the theater, which I really like and want to continue doing. The theater and the Golden Swan, that’s my plan now.”
