The shortlist competing for the 2023 Car of the Year award has been established from 27 entrants.
The jury, made up of more than 60 members representing various European countries, chose seven cars. All finalists envisage some form of electrification: all-electric or hybrid.
A final round of voting will take place in early January. That round will decide the winner of the 2023 Car of the Year award, which will be announced at a ceremony at the 100th Brussels Motor Show on January 13, 2023, according to motor1.com.

The 2023 Car of the Year winner will follow up with a memorable victory for Kia in 2022. The Kia EV6 was acclaimed as the 2022 Car of the Year, a first for the South Korean automaker. He scored 279 points and 12 individual votes after a close battle with the Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric. Hyundai The Ioniq 5, a cousin of the EV6 from the same Korean automaker, finished third.
Car of the Year is an international award. The judging panel is made up of top-level automotive journalists from all over Europe. The goal of the award is to find a single decisive winner. There are no winning categories, subdivisions or classes.
