Westworld season 3: Death of SPOILER, return of Charlotte, confrontation between Maeve and Dolores … the final season deciphered

First of all watch out for the big spoilers on episode 8 of the Westworld season 3 in what follows. The final season, Crisis Theory, is available on OCS and given what is going on there, it largely deserves that we dwell on it a bit to review several events. The first thing to emphasize is that Westworld has already been officially renewed for season 4, on which we can therefore already start to speculate thanks to the final season. It is first on the apparent death of Dolores that we look, since unlike previous times, it seems that this time the host is not ready to get up …

Is Dolores really dead?

But even if Bernard seems to have felt his link with Dolores break in the last episode of the Westworld season 3, however, this does not mean that it will never return. The series has shown us enough back to life to know, and we must admit that it is difficult to consider Westworld without Evan Rachel Wood. In addition, even being dead, Dolores remains present in a certain way via the return of Charlotte Hale stronger than ever. Even though Charlotte has completely emancipated herself from Dolores, she remains one of her clones and we can therefore imagine that Dolores’ personality is always present somewhere – and that it could therefore reappear at any time …

Dolores may be dead, so we still count on the presence of Westworld in season 4. Especially since his oldest enemy, the Man in Black, is back as a host after killing his original. A twist that proves that, even if Charlotte is different from Dolores, she still has in mind a quite similar, quite similar objective: to allow hosts to take precedence over humans. Post-generic scenes also show Bernard’s return to reality, who seems to have spent quite a bit of time in Valley Beyond, where most of the guests have been since the end of season 2.

Even if Maeve seems to have placed humanity before her desire to see her daughter again in the finale, it could be that she is still trying to access this famous Sublime whose key was in Bernard from the start. We also regret that Dolores and Maeve, who finally found common ground, only shared a few minutes on the screen after spending 3 seasons evolving in parallel but just as impressive. This is one of the reasons why we definitely hope that Dolores will return in the future. Finally without Dolores, Caleb imposed himself as liberator of the world by erasing Rehoboam, but we already know that Delos is not ready to drop the case, and that the struggle for control of human – and robot – minds will continue in the coming season.
