The director of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), Elena Mateescu announced at Romania TV what the weather will be like on the first day of the big month, but also what phenomena are forecast for the next period.

The temperature regime will be increasing in the coming days. On Sunday we count on values ​​between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius, possibly slightly lower in the Danube Delta area. The overnight lows, which will be positive across the country, will generally be between 3 and 12 degrees Celsius. If tomorrow we record values ​​up to 23 degrees, May will begin with values ​​close to the threshold of a summer day, namely 24 degrees Celsius, with the highest values ​​in the west, southwest. Even next week, Monday – Tuesday, we are approaching the threshold of a summer day, with 16 – 24 degrees Celsius, especially in the west and in the south, possible local rains especially in the mountain area and in the submontane areas, but also isolated in the west and center. On the coast, there will be values ​​close to 16-18 degrees Celsius, clear skies and low probability of precipitation“, said the specialist.

Short rains

On Sunday, April 30, the weather will warm up slightly, so the maximum temperatures will be between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius, slightly lower in the delta, and the minimum temperatures will generally be between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius, normal values ​​for the end of April. The sky will be variable, with temporary clouds and short-term rains, possibly accompanied by electrical discharges especially in the second part of the day, locally in the mountainous and submontane areas and isolated in the west, center and south. In the rest of the country, the probability of rain will be reduced, and in the high mountain area, there will be conditions for light mixed precipitation. The wind will blow weak and moderate, transient with some intensification in the east, northwest of the territory.

In Bucharest, the weather will generally be nice and warming up. The sky will be variable, with temporary clouds towards the evening hours and at the beginning of the night, when light, short-lasting rains will be possible. The wind will blow weakly. The air temperature will have normal values ​​for the end of April, with a maximum of 21 degrees Celsius and a minimum between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius.

Showers and possibly lightning

On Monday, May 1, on the first day of the last month of spring, meteorologists announce beautiful weather and it will continue to warm up in the west, northwest and center, and the rest, the thermal values ​​will be comparable to those of the previous day.

The sky will be variable, with temporary clouds in the morning in the northeast, and in the second part of the day in the mountains (especially in the Southern Carpathians) and in the southwest of the territory, especially in the submontane areas, where there will be showers in limited areas and possibly electric shocks. The wind will blow weak and moderate, with some intensification (speeds of 40-50 km/h) during the day in Moldova, Dobrogea and Bărăgan, and at night it will intensify in the south of Banat and in the west of the Southern Carpathians, where gusts will exceed 60-70 km/h“, announces ANM.

The maximum temperatures will be from 15 degrees Celsius in the north of Moldova, the east of Transylvania and on the coast to 23 degrees Celsius locally in the west and southwest, and the minimum temperatures will generally be between 1 and 11 degrees Celsius, with the lowest values ​​in the depressions of the Eastern Carpathians. Fog will be isolated in the morning and at night, especially in the center of the country.

In the Capital, the maximum temperature will be 21 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius.
