According to a recent estimate by a high-ranking Western official, the number of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine can reach 20,000 people, revealed the BBC.
Previous estimates given a few weeks ago were for 15,000 people. This official estimate has risen to “between 15,000 and 20,000”.
The Western official, who did not want to be named, did not speculate on the number of Ukrainians killed. However, he acknowledged that Ukrainian forces were “facing moral problems“after more than 100 days of fighting.

But while Ukraine’s armed forces are “making very heavy casualties”, he says “Russia’s offensive continues to be”deeply disturbing on many levels“.
He claims that Russian forces are short of some ammunition – in particular precision weapons such as cruise missiles. But he added that Russia still has large stockpiles of “deaf bombs”.
