West Ham United Women have recruited seasoned England youth international Lucy Parker after the end of her time at UCLA Bruins.

The 22-year-old, who has 22 international appearances with England’s developmental age groups, had been in the NWSL team’s Kansas City draft picks, but opted to return to the UK.

Parker said whufc.com: “It’s good to be able to go back to England and play in the first division, I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity.

“The experience I have had in the United States has been good, I grew up away from football and it was a fantastic life experience.

“I grew up here, I’m English, so this style of football is in my blood, so I hope I can adapt quickly.

Manager Olli Harder commented: “Lucy is someone who we believe has great potential and has already shown her qualities.

“Lucy has an amazing work ethic, she’s very internally motivated, she’s extremely humble and she’s a good teammate. These are always the qualities that I look for when I bring players to our football club ”.

In the meantime, the Hammers have made some backroom additions, with Brian Tompkins becoming Assistant First Team Manager / Coach and Head of Player Development, Sidney Kavanagh taking on the role of Performance Analyst and Lucy Barnes being Team Operator.
