Weißenhorn in Bavaria: small plane crashed after collision

A small plane crashed in Swabia after a collision with another plane. The pilot of the other machine was able to land and was asked about the accident that evening, said a police spokesman for the dpa news agency. With him there was another person on board, both survived the incident unharmed, according to the police.

As the “Augsburg General“reports that the landed vehicle is said to have been a motorized airplane. A glider, on the other hand, is said to have crashed, and the pilot was killed, according to the newspaper.

The clash apparently occurred near Emershofen, a part of the municipality of Weißenhorn in the Bavarian district of Neu-Ulm. However, the investigators ruled out poor visibility as the cause of the collision. The sky was clear, said a police spokesman. “It was bright sunshine”.

The start and destination of the two aircraft are still unknown, it said. The Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) was notified, but was initially not at the crash site in the evening.
