Weather – Offenbach am Main – Heavy storms expected: weather calms down on Saturday – panorama

Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – Heavy thunderstorms are announced for Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland for the next few days. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Wednesday, there will be heavy rain and gusty winds. Enormously large hailstones can also fall, and the DWD does not even rule out a tornado. On Thursday it will initially be partly clear with temperatures between 27 and 31 degrees before clouds will gather from the west. From the morning it is possible to rain or a few thunderstorms. In the afternoon, frequent showers and thunderstorms are to be expected, locally with severe weather. 25 to 40 liters of rain per square meter can fall within a short time, the wind blows violently. The storm passes during the night, but the next one follows a day later.

The north will be particularly affected by the showers and thunderstorms. The potential for severe weather is significantly greater than the day before, the DWD warned and announced enormous rainfall, strong winds and hailstones up to five centimeters in size. According to the announcement, “the necessary ingredients for a tornado” are also available. However, it could not be predicted when and where this could occur. The temperatures on this day are between 26 degrees in the north and up to 31 degrees in the front Palatinate. The weather only calms down at night.

On Saturday it will be significantly cooler at 20 to 25 degrees, the wind will only blow moderately. The sky will be cloudy in the morning, becoming friendlier in the afternoon.
