Hamburg (dpa / lno) – In April it rained comparatively little in Hamburg. The Hanseatic city only had ten liters of precipitation per square meter, as the German Weather Service announced in its preliminary monthly balance sheet on Wednesday. That is about 40 liters less than in the long-term mean values of the internationally valid reference period from 1961 to 1990.
According to DWD, April 2020 is the sunniest in Germany since recording began. It is also the twelfth April too dry in a row. Hamburg with little sunshine is 280, instead of 156 hours of sunshine, significantly higher than the internationally valid reference period.
With an average temperature of 9.9 degrees Celsius, the Hanseatic city was a little colder in April than in a German comparison – but 2.4 degrees warmer than in the reference period.
