Two-thirds of Scrooges find themselves richer today than a year ago. It’s as if an amount of wealth equal to our GDP had suddenly appeared in their portfolio. The 2021 record was also broken. In the 100 billion club, a very small circle of those who can boast a wealth of one hundred billion dollars, there are now 14 people: four years ago there was only one. One wonders whether even among Scrooges we can look at each other with envy or complain about the excessive concentration of wealth: only 0.5% of the super-rich hold 14% of the total wealth.

As for the rankings, based on stock prices on March 8, the richest of all confirms himself as the patron of luxury LVMH, Bernard Arnaultwhich holds the crown for the second year in a row: 233 billion dollars in the farm, 22 billion more than in 2023. 38 billion dollars behind Elon Musk, which boasts about 195 billion dollars in its account.
