Weather forecast. Heat records expected in Lorraine this Tuesday and Wednesday

No doubt: spring is here. Proof of this, the mercury exceeds 20 ° C on almost the entire territory and many French cities should thus beat this Tuesday or Wednesday their heat record for the month of March. In question: the presence of an anticyclone over Europe and a southerly flow which brings with it hot air, explains Météo France.

This Tuesday, the heat will be particularly noticeable in the west of France. On Wednesday, it will spread over the north and east of France and many cities in Grand-Est, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes could then record temperatures never before seen for a month of March.

Charleville-Mézières, in the Ardennes, could thus beat the 22.2 ° C, a record set in 2017, and Lons-le-Saunier, in the Jura, could exceed the 23.1 ° C recorded in 2001. In Bourg-Saint -Mauritius, in Savoie, the record of March 30, 2017 (24.4 ° C) should also fall.

Older readings should also be beaten on Tuesday or Wednesday, as in Metz (24.3 ° C in 1989) and Nancy (24.3 ° C in 1989).

Note that it will also be hot in Strasbourg and Reims (with peaks at 23 ° C on Tuesday and up to 25 ° C on Wednesday), Lyon or Grenoble (23 ° C), but no record should be broken there, according to Meteo France.

Records also expected in the West

It will also be very hot for the month of March in the west and north of France. Temperature records are thus threatened at Le Mans, Nantes, Rennes, Laval, Lille, Rouen and even Tours.

Note that some temperature records for March have already been broken on Monday. In Troyes, it was 23.8 ° C, or 0.5 ° C higher than the previous record, which dated from March 2004. In Biscarrosse, in the Landes, the March heat record was also broken, with 27.4 ° C, against 27.2 ° C in 1965.

Due to the high temperatures expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, cities in the West could even beat in quick succession their record set the day before.

Bad weather returns for Easter

The good weather will unfortunately not persist in France for the Easter weekend. Temperatures should return to normal and showers, or even snow, could be observed especially in the northeast of the country.

On April 4 and 5, temperatures should average around 11 ° to 12 ° C.
