Zverev without any effort to third round in New York

It was a long haul for Alexander Zverev, home quickly in the second round of the US Open. The German (placed fourth) spent an hour and a quarter on the court against Spaniard Alberto Ramos, whom he awarded only four games: 6-1, 6-0, 6-3.

Zverev and Ramos had met once before; at a challenger in Barranquilla, Colombia, more than seven years ago. The then 26-year-old Spaniard then allowed the then 17-year-old Zverev one game (6-1, 6-0).
