We are technology enthusiasts. And so, in addition to mobile phones, accessories and smart homes, we are also interested in game consoles and computers. Therefore, when the release date of the Playstation 5 was announced, we did not hesitate and ordered it immediately. However, we made a fundamental mistake and ordered the console from the largest e-shops – Alza and CZC. Unfortunately, despite a relatively timely order, the console has not arrived to this day. However, we do not blame the sellers. Supply simply exceeded demand. So we decided to try the competition, and just buy the Playstation 5 over time. So what are our first impressions of the Xbox Series X?
Xbox Series X as an alternate
Before we start, we have to say that we had the last Xbox 360. Since then, we have been keen PSkářs, so we were very curious about the new console from Microsoft. At the beginning we were quite skeptical. No exclusive titles? No advanced driver response as in DualSense? This is going to be a mess. Or not?
We will not discuss the design unnecessarily here, we will just note that we like the new Xbox. Maybe a little more than the futuristic Playstation 5, which is also huge compared to the Xbox and many people could have a problem with its location. The system itself is said to be the same as in the case of the Xbox One (we can’t judge), which doesn’t bother us at all. The user interface is clear, completely in Czech and we have no problem with it. We will also find such fuller and more complex than in the case Playstation. But the real thing comes when you discover the Xbox Game Pass service, which is an absolute game changer for us.
Xbox Game Pass is a huge library of games
Microsoft chose a different tactic instead of introducing exclusive titles. It’s called the Xbox Game Pass and we guarantee you will love this service. You can basically choose from two variants. The standard version costs CZK 259 per month, then there is the Ultimate version, which costs CZK 339 per month. The main difference is that with the highest subscription, you can also use Xbox Project xCloud, which is streaming gaming on Android. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also includes an Xbox Live Gold subscription, which allows you to play online and get exclusive discounts at the Microsoft Store.
Android has banned him, so Huawei is reportedly developing a game console. Competition for Xbox and PlayStation?

The game library is then giant and everyone can choose. We can mention for example Gears 5, Halo: The Masterchief Collection, Control, Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, Rainbow Six: Siege, The Sorcerer 3, Forza Horizon 4, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, No Man’s Sky or Doom Eternal. But there are much more and there are also Xbox 360 classics such as Alan Wake, Crysis series or Battlefield series.
This is really big. You pay a monthly fee, but we personally have no problem with that. If we pay for services such as Netflix or Spotify on a monthly basis, why shouldn’t we pay for a service that allows us to play online and also gain access to hundreds of high-quality games. In addition, an optimization for the Xbox Series X / S is planned for many of them, and some titles have even been improved. For example, Forza Horizon 4 in 4K and 60 FPS looks really divine. Recently, the first exclusivity of The Medium was released, which is a horror adventure and also looks good on the new consoles. By the way, there is also a next-gen update for the third Sorcerer.
The Playstation has a Playstation Plus Collection, which offers only a few pieces, but they are all sound and high quality. These are some of the best games for the old generation, so if you prefer titles like Bloodborne, Days Gone, God of War, Detroit: Became Human or Last of Us, it’s not worth thinking about the Xbox Series X. However, the Microsoft library is clearly more generous and can entertain you for a long time.
The driver is nice, but it doesn’t have DualSense
The driver for the Xbox Series X has undergone rather minor changes. We will find a new button for sharing on it, as well as a coarser texture, thanks to which it resists rapid setback quite well. We got used to a different layout of joysticks very quickly and even now it feels better than with conventional controls. However, Sony has come up with a more innovative DualSense driver, which has advanced haptics. Thanks to it, you can easily recognize what is happening in the game and it will draw you better into the action / match. The question is how long and whether third-party developers will access this innovation at all. In any case, Sony did better with the driver and was not afraid to take risks. Microsoft it went a more conservative way, which is not only shown by the controller, but the whole console works.
Xbox Series X nebo Playstation 5?
If you don’t currently have a console at home and you want a game console that has enough power for 4K and 60 FPS, you won’t make a mistake with the Xbox. We were also somewhat stubborn PSkáři and we are excited about the Xbox. We satisfied our desire for a new console and also tried out great titles like Gears 5 or Forza Horizon 4, which we might never have played if the Playstation 5 arrived. Conversely, if you have a Playstation 4 or Xbox One at home and would prefer a new console from Sony, wait. You will not lose anything fundamental, you will play most games on old consoles and there is not much exclusive content for the new ones.
